Mistborn: Vin character design

Being a big fan of the Mistborn books by Brandon Sanderson I take the character design very seriously. This piece did not disappoint one bit!

I love all the shades that creases; they all seem to fit into place perfectly. Her hair, eyes, and facial expression are just how I imagined they would be. But I must say that my favorite part about this work is the mistcloak. As =RoseMuse did point out, it is a little bright for her character, but with the overall lighting and color scheme in the picture I thought the shade was a perfect match.

One thing I found particularly genius was the purple and red sash; rather than a traditional black or gray that I've seen in so many other pictures of her. Based on her hair length I would guess that this is a snapshot of her during The Hero of Ages book in the series. In that novel Vin was just starting to come to grips with her feminine side--through Lady Valette--as well as her mistborn side. The brightly colored sash seems to bring all the underlying storyline and the piece itself together nicely.

All in all, this is one of the best pictures of Vin I have seen on DeviantArt. Congratulations on a job well done!
